BRITONS should prepare for a huge new network of mobile phone masts across the country so future generations can benefit from ‘world changing’ wireless broadband technology.
The head of the National Infrastructure Commission said Britain faces an ‘enormous challenge’ in preparing for the introduction of a new 5G network.
Lord Adonis said the country will need an increase in mobile phone transmitters to deliver the next generation of services.
Despite the UK only just settling into 4G, the next generation of high speed internet access 5G, will be unveiled in South Korea in 2018 to coincide with the Winter Olympics.
It will then be launched in Britain until at least two years later, according to The Times.
